In a word, Jill Turner is a ‘delight.’ Her breadth and depth of knowledge of young children is impressive. Her commitment to advancing their lives in developmentally appropriate and pedagogically sound ways is frankly quite refreshing. These qualities motivated me to reach out to Jill for her expert advice and assistance in developing a new early childhood program for children of families experiencing homelessness. These often forgotten, and at best marginalized, children are all too often destined to generationally repeat the pattern of poverty and neglect unless sustained quality intervention programs are in place. Jill’s dedication to getting The NEST Early Childhood Center up and running in terms of philosophical consistency, educational integrity and becoming a truly Nurturing, Educational, Safe and Transformative program is deeply appreciated.

Jill’s consulting services have been invaluable to me as a parent of a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I read her thoughts on behavior management in the home on a day when I felt at my wits end. Transitions with my four year old had become increasingly difficult and I felt like I was running out of tools to help her and me when we needed to be some place. Her knowledgeable and compassionate writing gave me insights about my daughter’s temperament that have changed my interactions with her. I better understand my daughter and that has given me the patience to be a better parent thanks to Jill’s insights.
It is hard sometimes to find trainings that are at a very high level or cover potentially difficult topics. Jill was never afraid to go deeper with the level of knowledge or to bring up things that we know we need to talk about but found it hard to discuss.
